29 APPRENTICES START AT L.I.T. GROUP

THE NUMBER OF NEWLY HIRED YOUNG EMPLOYEES RISES TO A RECORD LEVEL.

At the start of their professional life, L.I.T. Group today welcomed 29 trainees at the headquarters in Brake. Therefore the number of newly hired young people at the logistics specialist has risen to a record level. 21 prospective salespeople for forwarding and logistics services, five specialists for warehouse logistics, one professional driver and one IT specialist for application development and one for system integration will begin their training at L.I.T. All newcomers spend the first two days at the headquarters in Brake to get to know the company and its processes. Afterwards they begin their training at one of the 33 L.I.T. locations in Germany.

MORE TRAINEES THAN EVER

»This year we have more new trainees than ever before. It has proven that we put a lot of heart and soul into our training program as well as into contacting young people«, says Astrid Jonat, training manager at L.I.T. AG. The company’s commitment to recruiting young people was also honoured with the »TOP training company« award from the IHK Oldenburg, which L.I.T. got last year.

At the start of their professional life, the new trainees come together for two days in Brake. The aim is that the junior staff becomes familiar with the in-house processes and programs. At the same time, the introductory days should be an opportunity to get to know each other and network across locations. Every career starter receives a personal mentor from the second year of their apprenticeship before they start their training. »It makes the start a lot easier when our trainees have a contact person who was in the same situation not so long ago as he or she is now,« says Jonat. After the introduction days, the trainees start at nine different locations of the logistics service provider

During their training, the junior employees get to know the various departments in the company. There they are directly involved in the practical work. In the first year of the apprenticeship the young talents also participate in an intensive week of training in which, for example, presentation techniques and work and time management are on the program. Over the entire period the instructors and the training management look after the junior staff. If they perform well, an internship at one of the L.I.T. Locations abroad is possible. For relaxation away from everyday work, the company also offers numerous sports activities and organizes joint events such as barbecues or running events.
