Groundbreaking ceremony for the fuel station at the depot in Kassel

Scharf Transport GmbH & Co. KG is the new shareholder of the VTM fair GmbH fuel station network. This network brings together transport and logistics companies to purchase fuel at favorable terms. Specially programmed software enables cost-effective fuel procurement, ensuring that the lowest price is achieved at the time of purchase. Scharf Transport is now building its own fuel station at the depot in Kassel, where network members will be able to refuel with Adblue and diesel at pre-determined terms in the future. In addition, there will be showers as well as snack and coffee vending machines for drivers. Scharf Transport has already acquired its own semi-trailer for fuel delivery. Other shareholders of the fuel station network include L.I.T. Gruppe, headquartered in Brake, and Swiss Kiss Petrol AG.
"There is a growing desire among freight forwarders to organize their own fuel procurement rather than being dependent on price fluctuations and an opaque market. With VTM fair, we offer them exactly this possibility," says Stefan Rettberg, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Swiss Kiss Petrol AG. As the first transport and logistics company, L.I.T. Gruppe joined the network at the beginning of the year. Now, Scharf Transport is following suit to purchase fuel at a favorable fixed price at all VTM fair fuel stations. The company is also integrating its own fuel station into the network, which is currently being built at the Kassel site. 250,000 liters of diesel and 30,000 liters of Adblue will be available there daily in the future. Drivers will be able to refuel at five pumps. A video system ensures security on the premises and simultaneously protects against theft. The fuel station is scheduled to open at the beginning of next year. VTM fair will then take over operations, including purchasing, accounting, invoicing, risk management, and controlling. However, the fuel station will not only be accessible to members 24/7, but also to companies outside the network.
Scharf Transport has already acquired its own semi-trailer for fuel delivery. It will visit the Kassel site twice a day. The goal within the fuel station network is to purchase additional semi-trailers in order to carry out transport entirely on our own in the future. "We also benefit from the fact that our shareholders, such as L.I.T. Gruppe and Scharf Transport, have large fleets at their disposal," says Rettberg.
Currently, further fuel stations are under construction and are to be connected to the network in the future. For instance, L.I.T. Gruppe is building a fuel station at the company location in Bremen. New pumps are also planned in Bamberg and Coburg. Rettberg: "We are also modernizing existing fuel stations so that they can withstand increased operations." VTM fair has also responded to the growth of the network in terms of personnel. Three new employees are supporting the team to further drive expansion.
