Record: 38 trainees start at L.I.T.

We provide training in six professions at a total of 17 locations

Lots of hustle and bustle and many faces: On 1 August, we welcomed 38 new trainees and two annual interns. More than ever before. They spent the first two days at our headquarters in Brake to familiarise themselves with our company and processes. They then move on to one of the 13 out of a total of 17 locations where they start their training.

Trade fair instead of video call

We are delighted to welcome our new colleagues, especially in view of the ever-increasing shortage of skilled labour. These figures show us that our commitment to introducing young people to the profession is paying off. We are currently training a total of 104 apprentices. For the first time since the start of the pandemic, the team led by our Head of Training Astrid Jonat was once again able to approach potential candidates directly at training fairs. “We are very pleased that we were once again able to offer internships, visit training fairs and present our company in schools. Video calls are simply no match for direct dialogue with pupils. We get a much more personal impression and are better able to convince them of L.I.T. as a modern training company,” says Jonat.

First meeting in Brake

The new trainees started their careers with two induction days at our headquarters in Brake. Their colleagues from the third year of the apprenticeship organised the first day, during which our Executive Board members Julian Lachnitt, Simeon Breuer and Ingo Schreiber and the training team welcomed the young talents. The trainees also got to know each other better, the Group and the individual departments. In addition to photo shoots, a tour of the warehouse and the trainee truck, the junior staff had lunch together.

On the second day, the new entrants were given IT training, telephone training and seminars on quality management and the basics of training. On the third day, they were welcomed by their mentors, who will be looking after them closely for the next two months, and familiarised with their new workplace.

Six professional groups represented

Of the 38 trainees, four are training to become drivers, one to become a warehouse specialist, ten are being trained as warehouse logistics specialists, three as office management clerks, 19 as forwarding and logistics clerks, and one is starting his career as an IT specialist in application development.
