L.I.T. operates traileryard for German car manufacturer

New location serves as a buffer warehouse for supplying production plants

L.I.T. Speditions GmbH has been operating a trailer yard with space for more than 170 swap bodies in the Port of Hamburg since 1 May 2023. The area of around 20.000 square metres serves as a buffer warehouse for the production supply of a well-known German car manufacturer. The realisation of the project was supervised by the employees of L.I.T. Solutions GmbH from the planning stage right through to the launch and implemented in close coordination with the car manufacturer.

“The Port of Hamburg is a very attractive location with optimal infrastructure. With our new branch, we are deliberately focussing on the Hanseatic city. We see great potential in the automotive sector in particular, which we will utilise even better in the future”, says Simeon Breuer, Managing Director of L.I.T. Speditions GmbH and member of the Management Board of L.I.T. AG. The traileryard on the site has been in operation since 1 May 2023.

We have a total of 20.000 square metres at our new location. In addition to the 14.000 square metres of outdoor space, which offers room for more than 170 swap bodies and serves as a buffer store, we also operate a 5.000 square metre warehouse.

After a year of preparation, the go-live of the project went according to plan. “Everyone involved did a great job and ensured that we were able to start work on time. I would like to thank them for their excellent cooperation. In close coordination with our customer, we can now ensure reliable processing”, says Breuer.
