The L.I.T. Group has been offering its own digital learning platform for in-depth training since the beginning of 2023.
At lernen.lit.de, systems of the L.I.T. Spedition are currently being trained with a focus on the in-house freight forwarding software »freightLution« in specially designed and created digital courses. There are currently learning paths with almost 20 in-house courses, which can be assigned to almost 400 employees depending on their field of activity, as well as a number of external courses. The new learning platform contains specialised content, courses and background knowledge as well as practical information for day-to-day operations – always available on all common end devices, be it a computer, laptop or tablet.
As an onboarding and training officer at the L.I.T. Speditions GmbH, Sabine Voß works in the »back end« every day and wears the »lecturer’s glasses«. After all, she has put her 20 years of L.I.T. expertise and a great deal of passion into the courses: »I had an incredible amount of fun tackling the topic in the project team with Frank Walkenhorst and Julian Derst and getting it off the ground. From the blank sheet of paper to buying microphones and creating videos to the participants’ first certificates. All in all, it’s a great story that is now continuing to grow – whether in terms of the number of courses or the number of users. The platform is an important component for digital learning
in the freight forwarding sector.«
Digital is also more than a trend at the L.I.T. Cargo GmbH. Here, the online tool is used for training and instructing the almost 1.100 drivers. The tool offers interactive exercises and tests to deepen the drivers’ knowledge and provides direct feedback on the results. The training courses are offered in different languages to promote motivation and understanding. No elaborately coordinated face-to-face events are required. Every driver can complete the training courses on the road or from home.
Klaudia Parkitny, Yara Bärwinkel, Andreas Binz and Frank Düker implemented the project together. The roll-out and effective communication in advance were particularly important for the acceptance among the drivers: information flyers were created to inform all areas in advance about the campaign and the launch in the best possible way. On-site training sessions were held at the branches to offer direct »face-to-face« support and all drivers were personally informed via tablets in their local language.
Frank Düker, Head of the L.I.T Academy and Driver Development, reports on initial successes: »We have completed the first training course for all drivers. The next one is already coming up, the annual safety training for forklift truck drivers. The younger drivers were particularly quick to complete the training. We were able to answer technical questions quickly by phone, hotline or in person at the branches. Klaudia in particular did a great job here.«
