Logistics company welcomes apprentices, dual students and annual interns

Die L.I.T. AG begrüßt 45 neue Nachwuchskräfte, darunter 41 Auszubil-dende, drei duale Studierende und ein Jahrespraktikant.

The Management Board of L.I.T. AG welcomed 45 new appentices to their first day of training on Thursday. 18 prospective forwarding and logistics service clerks, eight warehouse logistics specialists, four warehouse specialists, four professional drivers, three office management clerks, one IT specialist for application development and three for system development, two dual students on the ‘Business in Practice’ programme, one dual student on the Business Administration programme and one annual intern are starting their careers with the logistics specialist. All new recruits spend the first two days at the headquarters in Brake to familiarise themselves with the company and its processes. They then start their apprenticeship at one of 13 of the 23 L.I.T. training centres in Germany.

‘Despite the industry-wide decline in the number of appentices, we are delighted to welcome 41 apprentices, three dual students and one annual intern to our company this year. This means that we have been able to keep the number of trainees constant over the years – proof that our commitment to promoting young talent is paying off,’ says Astrid Jonat, Head of Apprenticeship at L.I.T. AG. A total of 120 young professionals are currently completing their apprenticeships at the logistics company.

Extensive programme at the headquarters

The new apprentices first come together for two days at the headquarters in Brake. After being welcomed by Management Board members Julian Lachnitt, Simeon Breuer, Ingo Schreiber and the training team, the trainees start with an introduction to the company’s internal processes and programmes. Colleagues from the third year of training organise the first day, during which the newcomers get to know each other, the Group and the individual departments better. The programme includes a tour of the L.I.T. apprentice truck, a photo shoot and lunch together. On the second day, the new recruits complete basic training courses, including IT and telephone training as well as seminars on quality management.

Mentors for an easy career start

In addition, every career starter has been assigned a personal mentor from the second year of apprenticeship before the start of their apprenticeship, who will support them with onboarding over the next two months. ‘It makes it much easier for our trainees to get started if they have a contact person who has recently been in the same situation,’ says Jonat. After the induction, they will begin their training at 13 different locations of the logistics service provider.

Interested parties still have the opportunity to apply for an apprenticeship at L.I.T.. There are still vacancies for apprenticeships as warehouse logistics specialists, forwarding and logistics services clerks and office management clerks at the Brake, Bremen, Germersheim and Polch sites.
